Did you know that acupuncture is over 2000 years old? It is the use of fine needles to activate points on the body that promote healing, reduce inflammation, help release endorphins, and assist to balance hormone production. The needles used are extremely thin, stainless steel and single use. The points were first discovered through the practice of exercises like Qi Gong and Tai Qi where people could feel the paths that the energy flows in the body. We refer to the paths the energy (qi or chi) flows through as meridians. What started off as a system of trial and error has evolved into a very well studied body of literature. There are numerous studies done on acupuncture’s effectiveness for fertility, pregnancy, women’s health, pain, migraines and countless other areas.

Herbal medicine can be used for all types of issues. I studied Chinese herbalism so that is the majority of what I practice. The herbs are mostly used in synergistic formulas. I only carry a small herbal pharmacy with the formulas I use most. These are for conditions from a range of digestive problems, allergies, immune system assistance, anxiety and stress, sleep difficulties and pain. When other formulas are needed I happily order them. I do also make custom formulations for fertility patients. Most herbs that I prescribe are taken as a pill or capsule or as a tea.
