Baby Dreams.

Someone asked me recently about why I want to hold these fertility workshops. I didn’t need to think about it for very long. There are a few reasons. One is to start to build more of a community in my practice so that women know that they are not a lot alone and they have others to lean on that know the struggles they are going through. Another is to provide education and help people who may not be able to afford regular acupuncture and to offer an easy way to learn about how lifestyle changes and how Chinese medicine and I can help them. Lastly, is that this is part of my goals for my business both as a private practice and as something bigger than that.

I know that fertility can be a lonely journey. It can often feel like you are the only one struggling. Every week I see many women that are all going through very similar journeys. I get to know them and know that the things they are feeling are felt by many others that I see every week. By holding these workshops you get to meet each other in a no pressure environment. I will not ask you to share your stories, unless you want to. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing space where you can share as much or as little as you would like.

Those who come into my practice know that we spend a lot of time discussing things that they can do in their every day lives to help increase their chances of getting pregnant, staying pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy. We discuss diet, ways to manage stress, creating a healthier environment with things in your home and what you put on your body, and other ideas to help you on your journey. One of the things I love about Chinese medicine is that it really looks at the individual and the constitution of each person. In a workshop setting i can give more specific ideas for each person. Health is not one size fits all. I’m keeping the workshops small so that I can help answer specific questions and tailor instructions for the individual. In the workshops you can also learn about how Chinese medicine and acupuncture can help you. There will not be a hard sell. That is not me but if you’ve been curious about acupuncture, this is a way to learn more.

Finally, I have bigger plans for my business. I want to help more people. While I work primarily with those struggling with fertility and figuring out their journeys to motherhood, I am working on my own journey. Mine has more to do with creativity and business and for me these workshops help me put my work out into the world. The more people who come in to my practice as patients and for the workshops, the more I learn how to help people with fertility issues.

I hope you will join us for our workshops this fall!
